Just Saying Hi

It’s a little too addictive to be ultra-mysterious in these subreddits. Enigmatic content online produces hyper-individualized people and then I have to come up with some way to stand out amongst everyone else who is having their own personal experience.

I am not trying to offend anyone. A simple “Hi, hello” can carry a hidden meaning like: Would I really ever want to spend time with Bhodidarma? Hui Neng? Assuming I spoke the language.

So I’m not insulting those people. Their stories are mysterious enough.

Maybe they would be fun to spend time with. It could be that the reason I’m drawn to Zen is exactly that.

Some theories about privacy and health care

A rake handle angled up is too close to my face. I can step on the tines with my rubber soled boot to send the handle swinging toward my face. It isn’t the nerves in my face or the passage of time or the bobbing of the wooden handle.

It’s something else that radiates from the carved handle, like I can feel it with my skull. Points of heat maybe, some kind of echo in the wood grain.

One martial artist taught me that to become a master he had to wait in the room for the sound of his master creeping up behind him. He taught that there is a reflex the body has which protects it. The body must be relaxed, flexible and strong. But the reflex will move the body out of harm’s way.

Before the civilized modern era this test was carried out with a katana. The blade was carried into the room where a student was meditating. The blade was drawn and brought down through the seated student. Then one more strike to be sure. If the student survived both strikes, he was a master.

In the modern era this katana was replaced with a wooden blade. The student would surely be struck unconscious if he did not get out of the way in time.

But if I can feel the handle of the rake then I’ve already passed the test. You should try it. Hold a piece of copper plate up too your face and close your eyes. Can you feel anything reflected back at you? Not sound, not heat hopefully. Or try it with a wooden handle.

In the privacy of your own mind it could be that even the act of imagining yourself doing those things causes a cringe reaction. Not everyone is like that.

As a subject of research, we would prefer not to fall into the ‘prehistoric’ category. The Ancient Egyptians wrapped their pharos in strips of linen and we all know it. That doesn’t mean that any academics are going to try it any time soon. As a religion it is much too expensive anyway. The tombs of the pharos are about the size of a manhattan one bedroom.

Could you get away with pretending, briefly, that the god “Ra” exists? It does seem like the sort of thing you wouldn’t want to divulge, unless you were raised by psychologists running an experiment on you. How about telepathy or telekinesis? Could you read a book about telekinesis without trying it out? Or is it easier for you to realize how silly it sounds by simply reading a book about it. The screenwriters of the world will use these tools endlessly but only because having a real discussion about them borders on crime.

It’s a matter of who to believe. If someone stands up and points out something obvious about the human brain then doctors start to get suspicious. It’s probably a union rule that only doctors are allowed to do doctor things. I believe that most people between the ages of 18 and 35 really and truly do trust doctors. They believe that a young doctor or an old doctor is better than being alone and sick. It never occurs to them that doctors might not know meaningful biological facts.

From 7 or even 17 years of training a doctor has to acknowledge that all they know is what they’ve experienced. That is only their institutional knowledge and the people they encounter. The world could be based on something else. Each person could trust their own individual doctor, instead of all doctors in general. Or each person could trust themselves more than their own doctor.

Pine

What are you doing to me.

Needles, green needles. Smelling like a forest.

Pine tree.

Did you mistake yourself for a deck? Were you planning on becoming a new part for an old boat?

All we know is that you wanted to make sawdust, stink, and leave needles everywhere.

You’ll make a drumhead. A goat skin will be squeezed dry, the chamois stretched over the drumhead.

Nobody wants you pine tree.

My Theory, Submitted For You: AI Did Not Write This

It’s puzzling to write this post and consider what the reader wants from it. Readers need to get something out of each Reddit post and I’m afraid this one won’t provide anything at all.

Just a simple statement: AI didn’t write this. It won’t make your day better, can’t help you sell your image, cure cancer or make you stop feeling guilty.

As theories go, it does have a great premise: It causes a feeling of doubt. “Why does mouse-castle have to have a theory about something that he is writing himself?”

Here is my answer: There is someone who keeps making deranged posts on r/theories and it seems like the best thing to do is to make minimum effort posts until she goes away.

Pizza: New Jersey Identity

You can probably already see the flour caked t-shirt of someone shoving pizza into a hot stove, simply from those four words. Pizza, New Jersey and identity.

In France the law states that a baguette can only have water yeast and flour in it. In New Jersey the extra two ingredients are tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Then add garlic salt, oregano and basil.

I would make my employees wear plain white t-shirts. People don’t want to go into a pizzeria and see red t-shirts with a logo on it. They want to pretend that a gang of greasers just stopped a life of crime to open a pizzeria. Black hair, white t-shirts and jeans. And aprons.

But the pizza itself is so simple. Everybody should try it, to get a sense of how close it tastes to the pizza from the shop.

If you guys are interested in opening a pizza shop it could be called “Theories Pizza”

(Reddit Filter rejects the idea that this is a theory. Please vote accordingly)

Open petition to submit theories that re-examine the Louvre Heist of 2025. Anyone with personal experience encouraged to submit theories that portray the heist from your perspective.

Is there a chemical engineer who wants to weigh in? A sociologist? Philosopher?

From a fashion perspective, can anyone describe the detective at the scene, the so called “Louvre Detective?”

The foot fetish never made sense to me. But if an actress was addicted to heroin and injected it in her feet, a director might invent a new genre of fetish just to keep her sober.

One possibility is that people buying those types of pictures on line are doing it to test a person for drug use.

This means that the idea is a sort of human attempt at protecting someone from a narcotic.

What you believe to be God is probably real.

The earth was probably made with a class of builders who were giant. The giants were supposed to be used to make roads. Someone had the bright idea to make pyramids instead. So the brief moment the giants were alive, the resource was wasted.

It seems like people live their lives as though it is an IKEA set. But the idea that the earth was designed this way too is offensive. People admit that youth should be used to save for retirement. But never consider that the earth has its own life trajectory.

It could be that there are other people who have come up with the same theory, but I’ve never heard it before. I am aware of the Niphilim species from the bible, which does join up with my theory. This theory seems to be missing an explanation of what happened to the bones of the giants.

Richies could be shown some version of Reddit: a network, a set of servers, a group of people just standing and talking; and they would hate it.

“What? They’re just… standing? Not WORKING? Discussing things?”

Nobody is as nosy as someone who has Billions and is afraid to lose it.

I can’t hold your hand and say “who is best for Summerfest.“

I can’t tell you “This is in no specific year, just go with your heart.”

I can’t say “Who is your favorite band.”

Just a question, who would you pick to headline Summerfest, and why is it Oasis?

Do up and coming chefs still cater for alt-rock gigs? In the early 2000s most of the ‘fashionable’ chefs would try to get a 3 course meal going at the underground rock shows. (To confuse the groupies.)

Somebody on this subreddit must remember when Dave Halloway hosted that dinner and the Spider Camp 5 played. I think it was Spider Camp 5, although they changed their name later to Scab Stain.

If a proof or example of a person poisoned by negative energy existed.

All that researchers need to motivate the study of living forever is the belief that death is the result of a mental contagion.

Unless I am wrong, biologists are interested in biology. They discover new facts regularly because of their curiosity. The simple idea that dying tissue is related to a spiritual cause would be all it takes to get biologists excited about learning more.

If this subreddit had a sign posted out front it would say: “In this house we believe: man landed on the moon, but the moon isn’t what people think it is. Love emanates from a particle discovered at CERN called the ‘lovacle.’ UAP’s are legit. Car tires don’t spin, the earth rolls past them.”

The typical method of looking at the world is to consider all that can’t be seen and blow it out of proportion. The horizon that a person sees is really the entire size of the planet.

In a flat space the horizon is the exact rim of the whole shape of the rest of the planet.

Intuitively, every human being has an idea of the size of our planet. It is exactly as large as a clear unobstructed view.

Try to picture taking a panorama of the horizon, from a seat on the Seattle space needle. That whole picture is the part of the earth that is showing, and it hides the rest of the earth.

conclusion: nobody shot at him.

Enlightenment is a myth for some and true for others.

If someone ‘gets’ enlightenment, it could be a gift they get. Not an idea. So zen buddhism could have been made for some person who isn’t me.

If it is a natural state then there is nothing to get.
