Introvert Bride + Extrovert Groom: Happy Medium Wedding?
Calling all Brides, Grooms, Planners, & Vendors! I need your help!
My fiancé and I are recently engaged and have just started discussing our wedding. We've nailed down our theme: "Soulful chic", and what's most important to us: experience, design, music, and food. What we can't figure out is how to have a wedding that satisfies his more outgoing/people-person nature and my introverted/personal nature. My ideal event would be courthouse + family brunch + intimate lounge reception. His ideal event & cultural expectations (Nigerian) would be a welcome party + church ceremony + big reception + goodbye event. We are both willing to make concessions for the other person, but can't picture what a wedding that meets in the middle could look like. We are paying for the wedding ourselves ($120K budget) and could narrow down our guest list to 120 or fewer, depending on the type of event we go with. We won't have a planner, but like the idea of a coordinator. We have some vendors in mind, but can't nail down the event structure. Location could be NYC or AR.
Any ideas? Is there a middle ground?
