Shape wear/undies for the big day?

Not sure if this has already been asked here. Maybe TMI, or maybe I’m just a weird body shape and nobody else has this problem. Either way, I am hoping the lovely brides here can help sense-check me on yet another endless rabbit hole I have fallen down a mere 42 days away from the wedding…picking the right shape wear/undies for the big day 🙃

I really want to feel *snatched* on my wedding day, and I thought I did everything right early on. My dress is fully bespoke with heavy-duty built-in boning, and the cut I picked works well for my body type. Being of shorter (and admittedly rounder) statute, I made sure to bring several types of shapewear to my first fitting. All the classic spandex-like pieces that have great reviews online (skims, honeylove, spanx, etc), ended up making me look SUPER flat. Like, no bust, no waist, no hips…pretty much just a log wrapped in lace.

My stylist recommended that it may be worth exploring a bustier to help cinch the waist in the way that I’m looking for, and opt for a lower compression undie for the hips. It’s an interesting thought, but I don’t know how I’d feel wearing another boned piece underneath the dress.

Has anyone else struggled with finding the right shapewear? If so, did you find an alternative solution that worked for you?

Any recs are also appreciated…I’ll take anything to ease my mind at this point!
