HMS Armada

I first made a plastic template for the ship to sit on so I didn't sit too low in the water, then I spread a water based wall filler over the base to form the bow waves. The rest is just painting, keeping the colours lighter in the wake and darker where it's in disturbed.

Small figure - 28mm Prussian

This is the kind of thing I normally do, 28mm figures for wargaming, before 3D printing came along, they were all done by hand.

This is a Prussian (Franco Prussian War)

Initially using a wire armature and Milliput for strength then skinning over with greenstuff.

The musket was pre cast in this instance but was originally carved from plastic and sent off for casting coming back in pewter as you see it here.

Weapons and equipment are usually done first to save repetition.

Qin Warrior

My son has a Chinese girlfriend. Her parents came over from China to visit the U.K. so I made this for her father as a gift. It was a good excuse to have a go a larger figure than I normally do. I found painting a larger figure more of a challenge than I was expecting.
