VAD506 for 2.2k used, or TD516 new/used.(3.7k, 3.3k)
I'm really torn right now. Planning to meet up with someone on Saturday to check out their VAD507. The kick is a little torn up but he says it triggers great. So if true, would just need new mesh. I had been planning on buying a td516 this week. How much am I missing out if I get the vad507 when it comes to the triggers and modules abilities. I know sound wise it's a big step up. But can't I download sound packs? I figured if I really want to, I can sell the td27 module for around 1k, and buy the v51 for 1.8k. That puts me at right around 3k for all of it, still less than the 3.8k or 3.3k for td518.
Is there enough of a difference in the cymbal and hardwear to justify buying the td516 new. Or is this a a crazy good deal, and im way over thinking it? The nuance of play is important to me. I have mainly played on electric my whole life. I do like the feel of full acoustic but I have a acoustic kit. So I am indifferent about that. I do typically prefer racked drums more, but its not a deal breaker. Help!
