cyp19a1 promoter I.4 and it's role in AGA
Has anyone else looked into this?
Seems to me that if there was a way to specifically upregulated cyp19a1 promoter I.4, it could lead to an increase in aromatase expression within the scalp and thus reduce the DHT load on the hair follicles.
This seems like a pretty big deal in terms of AGA.
Cyp19a1 promoter seems to be downregulated in individuals with PCOS, and there has been several papers looking into the similarities of males with AGA and females with PCOS. Low shbg, low fsh, metabolic dysregulation, etc.
High cyp19a1 promoter I.4 expression could also potentially explain why some individuals can endure a high androgenic environment through the use of PEDs, yet not experience any hairloss (or at least very little of it).
