Re-Learning how to use my DSLR. How am I doing?

I’ve been spoiled by the ease of use of my iPhone for taking pictures BUT I have a trip coming up in January where I really want to capture some wildlife shots. so, I’ve picked up my Nikon D7500 (which I sadly haven’t used much) to re-adjust to taking pics with a DSLR and get some needed practice.

The result are these pics taken with a Tamron 18-400mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II. All the focus and exposure settings were done with the AUTO setting because I wanted to focus on composition.

That said, what do you think of the results?
