So, I might not have flared this right. If I haven't, I apologize!
Anyway, I'm in the middle of a big worldbuilding project for my Harry Potter AU. And in this project I'm trying to recreate the HP schedule, but for all years and all teachers (I'm a perfectionist-completionist).
This has led me to the conclusion that it's impossible within the time constraints hinted at within the books. Not without sacrificing believability, teachers time or expected curicultum. And all this is already a problem BEFORE I add the subjects I want to add to the curiculum for my AU needs.
I've made some assumptions;
* All practical core subjects (potions, herbology, DADA, transfiguration and charms) would need one double-hour per group of students. This would mean 12 double-hours per core subject teacher (2 for each year 1-5 because two houses share a class, and 1 for years 6-7 each because NEWT student are fewer and can therefore be shared across all houses).
* All core subjects need to have a minimum of two scheduled classes per week for projects and homework, and the like.
Already after this, the teachers of core subjects have a schedule that exceeds the alotted time.
As such, I feel like I either need to either adjust the alotted time by two hours a day, or I need to place all four Houses of the same year in the same class at the same time.
I'm just curious if there's anyone else that's attempted to map out ALL schedules at Hogwarts and have managed to solve it some other way? 😄
