How can she protect herself?

So there is a friend of mine who is in this situation now. Like months ago she got to know one dude who started flirting with her. But she wasnt into him. Her parents also knew the guy and found out he was flirting with her and forced her to stop any contact with him (she did not really care as she wasnt into him).

But now there is another situation where she got to know a guy her parents also meet sometimes and she is really into him, and he also seems interested. But now she is afraid that if it becomes obvious parents might force her to stop any contact with him as well (and she obviously doesnt want that to happen).

What should she do? She wants to get closer to him but also scared not to make it obvious for parents to avoid conversation about it.
