Buyers beware of "Design Within Reach" for Herman Miller Warranty Support. Not all dealers are created equal. Do your research on where you buy.

As an editor for a major home and office publication, I’m writing an article on this, but Reddit deserves to know first. I bought a Herman Miller Mira 2 via Design Within Reach. The specific outlet store I purchased from shut down though DWR is still around. I gave DWR all my details; they claimed they couldn’t find the order. Oddly, other DWR locations could see my account, but they’d say they “just can’t see that chair.” Then the excuse was: “Outlet stores are cash-and-carry, we don’t keep full records unless you order online.” It’s nonsense.

Sadly it's as simple as fixing a bolt, but they drag you around for days avoiding it. Despite the countless OEM labels with the numbers in the chair and everything.

Bottom line: they don’t want to honor warranties. If you’re buying Herman Miller, be cautious. I’ll expand on this in my article. While Herman Miller chairs are great, be careful which dealer you use. It can really ruin the experience.

Keep super detailed purchase records and fully expect your dealer to bail on you.
