Suggestions for creating documentaries on Kurdistan

I’ve been a Kurdish activist for two decades, but the maneuvers we’re seeing in 2026 feel like a different kind of threat. I’m making short documentaries to help raise awarness for kurds,

I’m looking for feedback on this style and suggestions on which specific topics in the Kurdish struggle need more awareness right now. If this appealts to you, I’d love to talk there are many things missing in our media (our history) and I would love to show it with your help.

Made an AI-animated geopolitical “what if” reel. Would love feedback

Made this animated geopolitical “what if” reel using an AI-heavy workflow and wanted some feedback from people here.

The idea was to make political/history content feel cinematic and entertaining rather than like a lecture. This episode explores: What would happen if Abdullah Öcalan was released?

I’m experimenting with mixing documentary narration, animatics, AI-generated imagery, motion design, and speculative geopolitics into short-form storytelling.

Would genuinely love feedback on:

• pacing
• visual consistency
• whether the storytelling works in short-form
• how cinematic it feels overall
• anything that breaks immersion

Trying to push these tools beyond just aesthetic clips and more into narrative/worldbuilding territory. Made this with a workflow using Midjourney/Seedream/Runway/Premiere/AE etc... trying to see how far AI tools can go for documentary storytelling. Would love feedback from people experimenting in this space.

I’m Kurdish and trying a different approach to political awareness content. Feedback?

Hi guys, I have a page called Sketching Strategy where I make documentary-style animated reels about what-if scenarios and geopolitical analysis. As a Kurd, I wanted to find a way to raise political awareness about Kurdish issues without making the content feel preachy or heavy-handed.

My idea was to include a Kurdish-focused episode once every 10 videos, so people naturally learn about the history and politics through interesting scenarios rather than feeling like they’re being lectured.

For this episode, I decided to explore: What would happen if Abdullah Öcalan was released?

I’ve uploaded the video and would genuinely love your feedback, both on the concept itself and on whether this approach works. I’d also love to hear any ideas for future what-if scenarios connected to Kurdish politics, history, or the wider region.

I’m working on a series called "Sketching Strategy" where I use AI to visualize high-stakes geopolitical scenarios.

This episode covers a nightmare scenario in the Strait of Malacca. I really wanted to see if I could use AI to capture the "vibe" of a high-end documentary/thriller rather than just random clips.

Hi guys, I’m making an animated series about future what-if scenarios. As a Kurd, I want to explore a topic: what would happen if Kurdistan were declared as an independent state.

My question is, what chain of events could realistically lead to that happening, and what would likely happen in the region and globally once it’s declared?

This project is a 'what-if' future series that blends photography, AI generations, and real-world media like newsreels and interviews into a single narrative."

I would love to hear any opinions you have. So far, I have made a few and would like to see it as a long-form animated documentary, as a new and interesting genre, what do you guys think?
