Do they overplay the reoccurring villains?

An issue I’ve had binging the first seven seasons before watching season 8 live that I have is we get the reoccurring villians sticking around way too long in my opinion. Rosalind, Elija, Oscar, Monica etc are fun characters but at a certain point I feel like they became overplayed and overstay their welcome, with me starting to feel the same with Liam.

i get the reality of bad guys don’t always go away or down neatly but idk part of me rolls my eyes when I see Oscar or any of them really now. Im sure had we not have had the real life passing of Rosalind’s actress her character wouldn't have been written out (not sure if it’s been confirmed if her illness lead to that or not).

Idk is this just an issue of me binging and had I watched it live it works better? Like I think they handled La fiera well and made that a solid story that could have dragged on. Like at this point I won’t feel satisfied from a story telling standpoint when or if Oscar dies just like relieved which I think is a disservice to how good he was at the start.

So I was talking with my fiancé about bloodlines and we got a little confused on how the rules are presented when it comes to the order and neither of us can agree on it now.

So obviously the conceit of this is death now goes after the blood line in order of births that shouldn’t exist. Cool great premise!

What's got us confused is how the bloodline aspect impacts the og survivors order. So for instance: Iris’ husband Paul is the last to die in the initial dance floor collapse. In the prior movies he’d only wait to die till the literal people on the floor died on the floor before him were dead. With the bloodlines element did he have to wait till any additions died or are there two sets of dominos or death’s list always running?

By that I mean, Paul made it five years after the disaster and let's say the person who died right before him was named Joe who had five kids prior to their death. Does he A. Die once the final kid dies or B. As soon as Joe died, that put him and their oldest kid on the chopping block and it could have been either of them to go first, with the list continuing on survivors, while still working Joe’s children?

I think that the implication is you can’t die till the entire slate was wiped clean before you, including children born after the fact, so at the start of the movie only Iris and Bloodsworth are the only people alive from the event and her kids and grandkids are the only descendants left and at the end Bloodsworth is the last one standing (for the time being).

What my fiancé pointed out is that the rule set seems to follow the multiple sets of dominos constantly running impacting the next in line and the descendants at the same time. Here are her reasons

  1. Logically Bloodsworth should not be sickly to that degree with Iris having just died. Either he should have been taken out by the typical FD death, died quickly of a natural occurrence, or if he was pulling an Iris and being so cautious, just diagnosed. Basically she thinks until the Campbell’s are dead there is no reason for him to be in danger ala Final Destination 2 & 4 which showed that you can’t jump out of order until you’re actually next on the list.

Now we both know the unfortunate reality of Tony Todd’s real life health, but she felt his lines implied that his real life sickness was being depicted and was a result of the death’s order being fucked with, not him just being sick.

  1. The fact the blood line is wiped out not generation by generation, but the literal bloodline order I.e Howard was the oldest so his branch is taken out before his sister, despite her being older than his kids, same with (if going by actor ages) Stefinie is older than Bobby.

Further complicating this is how did Death decide when to go after the Campbell kids? You can make the argument that had Paul died still that night but Iris saved everyone not on the dance floor, she was already pregnant with Howard so he and then his line is tied specifically to Iris surviving, not Paul. Darlene and then her kids only exist if Iris prevents 100% of the deaths, not just hers so that makes things a little messier!

So basically she thinks that while Iris and Bloodsworth are the last survivors, depending on how prolific some of the survivors were in having children other bloodlines are still out there. So what do you guys think? She’s really made me rethink this one!

I remember this zombie flash game where you play as a guy going through white hallways and basic zombie figures in white outlines sans flurshments like bloater heads, red claws etc. You can get weapons like an Ax, shotgun, uzi etc. and you'd fire or hit by clicking red circles in quick time events. I recall a mad scientist and various zombies so I think you had to shoot potions out of the air as well. You were trying to find your wife and daughter! Hope you guys can help!
