I was so excited for an upcoming Courtney release, but now? I’m bummed honestly. The dress is quite underwhelming. Someone mentioned the tights may even be Julie’s tights. I think it might have looked better if it was one color. Something about it is not clicking for me. The sweatshirt seems ok, but the outfit as a whole is a little bit of a letdown. I hope the black leggings are different from the ones that came with the yellow tights. The pink shoes look like they could be Kavi’s shoes! The new accessories seem overpriced. They cost just about as much as the outfits. Also, these are being advertised as the main accessories for the doll now. Does that mean they are phasing out the cassette players? That makes me sad. The boombox that played music was what drew me to Courtney originally.
I guess I won’t be placing an order today like I had planned to. I almost feel like I initially loved becoming a collector because I discovered all of the older product. Now being a collector feels like many new releases are a bit of a letdown. I loved Julie’s release (2?) years ago, and bought all three new outfits released for the “Beforever girls”. Other new releases in general though, have not captured me the way I had hoped.
