Dog unearthed a nest with one bunny in it
Our dog got into our raised-bed planter and dug up a small cottontail nest with just a single baby rabbit in it. Anything special we should be doing for the little guy?
Most advice seems to be "leave them alone, mom will probably come back", but a solitary bunny already seems off. And our dog trampled the chives and turned the nest into a trench, so the bunny's not exactly spoiled for shelter. Doesn't seem to be injured, but it's clearly still young enough that it's not especially mobile, either. A handful of neighbors also have outdoor cats that get into our yard at night, so I can't say I love his odds as-is.
