I've been with Revolut for over 3 years and it was my favourite digital bank. I genuinely loved using it. Best app, great FX rates, everything just worked. I recommended it to every friend I know.

It's been my main account for everyday.

A few weeks ago Revolut asked me to verify my identity. The catch: my passport was physically at VFS in Canberra being processed for my German visa — for the trip I'd been preparing for through Revolut. So I couldn't upload it immediately, and they restricted my account for being overdue.

As soon as the passport came back, I verified. A few days later they emailed to say they'd decided to close my account.

I appealed. I explained the passport situation, how I use the account, and offered payslips, employment verification, anything. I'm a salaried software developer in Sydney. I also mentioned that I receive about $30 per month from Google Play for a small app I built myself, happy to redirect that anywhere if it was the issue.

Today I got the response:

> "After reviewing your recent appeal, we're sorry to say that our decision to close your account will proceed as planned. Your account will be closed, and your agreement with Revolut will end on 23 June 2026."

That's it. No reason. No specifics. No conversation.

So I'm flying to Europe in three weeks with the account I was using to prepare for the trip about to be shut down right after I get back. I have stocks, crypto, a European trip planned around this account, and direct debits to migrate. And after years of advocating for Revolut to everyone I know, I feel pretty stupid.

Has anyone here successfully reversed a closure? Is lodging with AFCA worth it? Anything I'm missing before 23 June? I need support.
