Noob question - we had solar panels installed last week but no battery currently.
Was a bit puzzled at first because the mySigen app only showed very little load most of the day with random spikes occasionally.
Thought maybe there was some smoothing or lag built in but we used our electric oven and the load didn’t change.

Our smart meter data is finally catching up to when it was installed and the day they were turned on we generated 20kwh of energy, exporting 19kwh to the grid and it says we used 2.45 from the grid in total during the day.
Checking the data we actually imported 18kwh so clearly a lot not being tracked.

I’ve noticed the load immediately jumps up when we use the immersion but nothing else seems to register.

We’re waiting for our new heat pump to be connected so maybe the installer intend for solar to cover that but my question is 1) is this usual? 2) can we get it configured to provide power for all uses in the house when needed or is a battery required for that level?
