I got scammed on a “taxi”
My friends left in our car because of the heat and I stupidly did one of those taxi things out front since I couldn’t get an Uber after G&R and he said $120 for a 20 minute drive. He grilled me on my financial situation, asked to see my account to “make sure I have the money”, what I do back home, how much tickets were, etc for most of the trip. Once I got there he said after 10 pm it doubles in fare so it was $270 and said he’d earned a tip and had the doors locked so I couldn’t leave. As a solo female rider in pasties I felt very intimidated and felt I had no choice but to pay him. Super duper sketchy and I definitely learned a pricy lesson. I could seriously cry right now. I feel like such an idiot after such a long day.
ETA: I am from a very small rural town so I have no experience with taxi services or how they work.
