Start by building up to your desired level, either by tube or scaffolding build a space for a Tube/Zip station on top.
Setup your walls
Place a terrain block every seven spaces on the top inside to setup the suspension bridges,
Prioritize the walls that support the suspension bridges and the bridges.
This will prevent the one wall at a time thing and speeds things up tremendously. I always neglected the bridges so now I'm trying to utilize them. If you prioritize the lower walls(not shown in image), it can also help you get the reservoir started so you can fill as you build. You could probably put the bridge support one lower and switch to platform so you can use tubeways around for speedier beavers but I'm not sure about the resource/time cost to build.
