Saxophone in metal - Acceptable or Hideous?

Just genuinely curious what the metalredditheads think of this. How do you feel about saxophones in metal songs?

I'm into metal with all kinds of different angles and subgenres, hell, I love me some symphonic metal, folk metal, speed, thrash, death, industrial, you name it.

But for some reason the one instrument that just absolutely makes me go "nope, uh uh, turn it off, no no no" when I hear it in metal is saxophone. For some reason it just absolutely ruins metal for me. I can do opera singing, piano, symphonies, viking instruments, Celtic harp, but when the sax comes on I can't handle it 🤣

What's everyone's thoughts on this? If you do like sax in metal, are there any other particular instruments that make you go "nope" when you hear them in a metal song?

Hi all, I'm a longtime Bethesda nerd and put thousands of hours into both Oblivion and Skyrim (and Skyrim VR.... and Skyrim SE... Lol). I haven't bought Starfield yet because everything I've been reading about it since launch makes it sound like it's fifty different procedurally generated variations on the same small handful of quests and planets.

I am really leaning towards buying it but at the same time I'm not sure if I can stand seeing loading screens every five minutes of gameplay and it's hard to figure out from reviews and online comments whether there is or isn't enough variety in the game to keep it interesting for at least 30-40 hours of fun gameplay. I'm also very leery of Bethesda's gun gameplay as (IMO) the shooting in Fallout was so awful I could barely stand it. I usually play a stealth archer build so would definitely be going for a sniper/long range attack type of character. For reference my favorite games are Oblivion, Skyrim, Dead Space series, Mass Effect trilogy, and Ratchet and Clank.

What say you, do you think it's worth buying at the current $50 price tag? Would I enjoy it or is it just going to feel like a last gen game they put a coating of new graphics over (Fallout in space with guns, etc?) Are the skill trees/upgrades/technology fun and varied?

Any thoughts are welcomed and thanks for taking the time to read 😁

I've mentioned this shirt in a few comments here and there but especially given EA's shut down the DS store, I noticed you can get them again so wanted to share. I personally have owned it for a few years and it's one of my favorite shirts. Perfect if you like Dead Space AND metal 🤘hope it's OK that I'm sharing this, I have zero connection to the seller
