Assalamo Alaykom,

Don't get me wrong, i m eating only halal meat.

But i m starting to question, is it really mandatory ? Or it's just a big business idea ?

I m living abroad and seeing muslim colleagues eating non halal meat (not porc) and talking about the various restaurants they're trying each time during lunchtime.

Correct me if i m wrong, but the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) used to eat meat when offered from non muslim person.
