Hot Take (?): These backgrounds should NOT be relegated to once-only events. They're too signature feeling to the gimmick to be linked to a single event.

(And I say this as someone who already has the coveted ones like DS Shiny zard and Gengar) With all the forms, variations, and (in some cases) shinies yet to be released, it seems kind of dumb to make these one-time only BGs.

I feel like the Dark Skies Background SHOULD return whenever Eternatus does (whatever gap they feel like going with).

The Mega one? I dunno.. Zygarde releases?

These aren't like normal event, or community day backgrounds that're tied to dates. They feel like they're a highlight of the forms/gimmicks.

I genuinely feel like if we don't see a re-release of these backgrounds with additions in tow, it'd be a helluva shame, and Niantic/Scopely is straight up leaving money on the table.
