Heating

Hello
My flat has no central heating. There is underfloor heating but the landlord cut it before I moved in. I didn’t know that before I moved in I found out when she visited and I asked what the thermostat was for as nothing seemed to be turning on the radiator in the bathroom.
The floorboards are a bit warped so I think that may have been why it was cut.
I have 2 plug in heaters/radiators. A small oil one in the bedroom and a bigger one in the kitchen/front room. They’re so expensive to run so I don’t run them.
I never realised this might be that bad, because the landlord supplied a heating option, until I mentioned it to another landlord at a flat I went to view the other day. Just in passing like “I can’t wait to have central heating again” and they were like “what?” And then “that’s illegal”.
I’ve never asked the landlord to fix it and in the 18 months ish I’ve lived here they’ve also never said they would.
Is it illegal? Or not because they provided an alternative.

No dating but make it fun?

As I’m newly diagnosed HSV2 and having outbreaks I won’t be looking at dating etc for probably a year.
So far the outbreaks aren’t so bad, the normal tingles and blisters, not too painful, but some awful lower back pain!

How do I make this a positive?

I’ve never really not thought about men or dating and I know I can use the time to get to know myself. I want to be more in the world that just a woman looking for a man. I want to be fun and interesting etc. how can I do that? What have people done.

I’m still stuck very in the negative (or just realistic) about this diagnosis, knowing I might take a year out and then think about dating, with no one that would want to date me anyway and then add herpes to that. Plus learning how to disclose in the future just feels like a whole thing in itself that I can’t think about atm. I have added it to my fetlife page but only because that’s anonymous to some extent.

How do people:

  1. Cope with the fact they may be very unsuccessful in dating?
  2. Learn to be a well rounded interesting person that’s not looking for love and attention all the time 😂
