While getting our toddler ready for bed tonight, I noticed bumps all over his thighs and bottom. Last week, we received an email notifying us of a HFM case and that the child was sent home from daycare, so I am confident this is HFM. He had herpangina exactly this time last year, and it was awful, but at least it was only localized in his mouth and no sores on his body. Unfortunately, he passed it on to me and I had full blown HFM-- I was 4 months pregnant at the time and I genuinely believe it was top 5 worst illnesses I've ever had in my life. I lost two fingernails after it passed!!

I know there's not much we can do once HFM occurs. He said he wasn't in pain tonight so we didn't provide Tylenol (no fever either) but will continue to monitor and try to make him as comfortable as possible. Just really hoping it will pass quickly this time. I am also concerned about HFM spreading to our 6 month old daughter and my mom who is staying with us. Aside from doing our very best to keep them separated and disinfecting like crazy (no sharing food or drinks either), are there any other precautions we can take? Did anyone else and their other babies make it out unscathed when their toddler had HFM?

I'm so glad a forum like this exists. When I tell you guys we have the WORST neighbor from hell, I don't say it lightly. Their issue with us started last year when the HOA notified them they hadn't paid their HOA fee for 2 years. Since they didn't pay their bill, they were then sent to collections and they then lost their minds. They targeted our neighbor, who is on the HOA board, and tried to make her and her family's life a living hell for the last year. Unfortunately, we were then targeted because we're great friends with our next door neighbors and we're now victims due to affiliation. They started stalking us on our walks with their pitbull, cursing at our neighbors, calling the police on them, and then started filming us the last 9 months. Any time we are outside, they whip out their camera to film us and our children, which makes me so uncomfortable because I have no clue what they're doing with that footage. These kids are 4 years old or younger. We recently received an email from the HOA letting us know that the neighbor from hell has reached out to our HOA's attorney with a formal complaint of our children playing on the streets. Over half of our community does not have sidewalks, so after our post-dinner walk, we let the kids play in front of our garages but always under close supervision. Most families who drive into our community drive slow to help accommodate the kids, and we *always* move them out of the way or the kids come rushing into the garage at first sight of a car driving in. We are not on a busy street as we live inside a gated community, but because we have no driveways or sidewalks, they kids will scooter or bike in front of our house with an adult present. The awful neighbors always drive 40+ miles an hour to scare us and prove a point (they also film us while they're zipping by). They have now told the HOA they must prohibit our kids from playing outside of our houses and taking meaningful measures that this does not become a reoccurrence. Meanwhile, their teenage son is playing basketball on the very same streets with a basketball hoop that goes against our CCRs. I also ran the CCRs in Clause to ensure there's no actual law that states children are not allowed to play outside of our houses, and of course, there's nothing. Is there anything I can do or say to the HOA to get this crazy lady off our backs? They have over 14 lawsuits on the county record site, with 5+ of them being restraining orders, so I know I need to tread carefully, but I just want to stick the middle finger up to them.
