I'm at my wits end at this point with this issue.

Daikin mini split installed less than 3 years ago which is my only source of heating/cooling for my home started making unusual noises and seemed to be heating poorly. We called the company who did the install and they sent a "service tech". Guy who came out cleaned the head filters, rinsed the condenser, and check for error codes on the head units (all of which I have already done and reported to the dispatcher). He then says he can't do anything about the actual issue (head unit reporting low coolant or valve issue) and leaves.

A few days later I get a call to schedule another tech who comes out and evacuates the lines (supposedly had 1lb left in them vs the 6lb then should) and then fills them with nitrogen to do a leak test. He hear it hissing out of the head in our bedroom from all the way downstairs. He then proceeds to pack up and say we need to replace the head and that they will call us when it is available. There is still extremely loud hissing coming from the unit in our bedroom at this point and he just buggers off with the kids on all of our heads open, the service disconnect pulled, no quote, no timeline, nada.

This is where things start to piss me off. I wait a full WEEK with no contact from the company and then start calling them. It takes two calls and three days for them to tell me that they haven't even ordered the part because they never got notes from the 2nd tech. They then say they will need to send out ANOTHER tech so I stay home from work to facilitate and the dude never shows. What does show up in my email is a "quote" for $2,200 with ZERO detail beyond "replacement of head unit" and this guys "notes" which state that there is both a leak and that "no leaks were detected". Paperwork is also missing basic recordings of values from the "diagnostic process". There are fields for them but they just have "XXX" instead of actual values. I was also told that "the part is covered under warranty" verbally, but there is no mention of this in the quote itself. That also seems like a ridiculous sum for a head replacement where the part is covered.

Naturally I call them for more information. Takes two calls and two days for them to just send over THE EXACT SAME EMAILS. I specifically asked for clarification and explanation. I had to call them again and read from the email before they would even acknowledge that it was "kind of weird" and was assured for about the fifth time that I'd get a call from their service lead ASAP. Another FIVE BUSINESS DAYS goes by and I get jack. Not even a call to say that the part they supposedly ordered has arrived (they originally projected 2-4BDs about 10BDs ago.

It has been four weeks since the initial visit at this point, three of which with absolutely no HVAC on a system installed less than 3 years ago for $14K. We have had temps overnight in the 40s and highs in the 90s. Am I being unrealistic or is this completely bonkers and unacceptable?!

Can I just have another company come and take care of this? At this point I have no reason to believe the part has actually been ordered.
