Hello Luthiers!

I am not a luthier but I try to learn the basics with some old guitars I bought. I bought an Aria SG (Japanese copy) and it has been newly fretted by someone the previous owner hired to do. I try to make this into a nice guitar but can't get rid of a buzzing low E and A string that happens while I play not only the first frets, but also the 12 th and 13th fret and so fourth.

This is what I did. I use the MusicNomad kit

* measured the space between 6th fret and the low E string, while pushing the E string down on the 1th fret.

* The space was very little so I loosened the truss rod. I loosened bit by bit, in total maybe 1 round and then the tension of the truss rod was completely gone. So it was loose and thats why I screwed it 0,25 of a round back to have a bit of tension.

* Measured the action on the 12th fret (while pushing the low E string down on the 1th fret.

I set the action on around 0.07 mm on low E and 0.06 on high e, by using the screws on my tune- o - matic bridge to lower the bridge just a litle (maybe half a round).

I have this buzz but I cannot loosen the truss rod anymore. Also increasing hight on the bridge makes the action high.

I would be very happy if someone can give me some advise on what to do next! The frets on the guitar are new and rather thick (maybe in comparison to how it was built originally). I think its medium Jumbo. I put a pic in the post.
