TLDR; With a bad tide approaching in 3 days, how do I keep the reservoir clean or at least divert the flow? Dams, levees, floodgates are unlocked.
Hey beavs, I have created my first ever big effing reservoir and I am very proud of it. The second I placed the last dam however, I got hit with the Bad Tide Approaching warning and immediately s*** my pants. I have 3.5 days and very limited resources (only dams, levees and floodgates unlocked right now) to figure out how to save the reservoir and divert the flow of bad water.
My initial thought is to destroy the dam blocks on the left and replace with floodgates, and replace the adjacent levees with floodgates, allowing me to send the bad water away from my settlement. the issue with this is that it will cause the reservoir to fill with bad water, which I hope to avoid.
My other thought is that something can be done further upstream to divert the flow before it hits the reservoir, but with limited time and resources I am not sure that’s an option.
What have you done on this map to deal with bad tides? What would you recommend to a beginne? Thanks everyone 🦫 🫡
