Hi! This is a throw away account, also I'm sorry in advance but English isn't my first language-

So, just as the title says my sister doesn't like one of my cats and wants me to give her away (I have a total of 3 cats). Let me explain everything from the beginning.

Our family isn't very united and we don't really talk to any family members besides a couple of uncles/aunts.

In September 2023 my mother rented a big house so that also my sister could live here, after some months my sister left and went living with her current boyfriend in a different city then in October 2024 my mother, who isn't very reliable, completely stopped living there and went to her "partner" place and I started living her alone.

My mom decided to stop paying rent in June 2025 and I needed to find a new place very quickly because the landlord was pressuring me but since it was summer there were no other places to rent and I couldn't really rely on any family members, I couldn't pay the current rent because It was way too high for me and it was nearly more than half my paycheck and I also had to pay all the bills by myself, cats food etc.

Luckily in the past few years my dad inherited a very small house in a different city but since he died in 2022 the house went under my sister's name at the end of 2025 because she's older than me.

When my sister first discovered about place she told me that I could live there by myself and pay her some rent since she was living in a different city with her boyfriend and I was very happy about that, then when I started doing all the work inside the house with my boyfriend, putting the utilities under my name etc she told me that the bigger room was hers and that she was going to come here from time to time in the holidays, which was still fine by me.

I'd like to specify that there was no furniture inside the house nor lighting, there was a gas leak, no water and many other issues and my boyfriend and I did all the work. My sister and I split most of the expenses but for many things I paid upfront and to this day she still has to pay me back.

She wasn't present to any of the appointments with the hydraulic, etc because she was in a different city and I had to take many days off at work to do all this (the only issue with my job is that I don't get paid if I get a day off and she knows it).

We often argued because of these things and Because I couldn't take many days off at work and I was pissed I was doing all the work and she always threatened me to leave me on the streets and keep the house to herself so I always just let her be and stopped arguing with her.

In October I was finally able to live in this place, I paid someone to bring all my stuff and hers in the place(she still has to pay me back) and since she didn't have the money to buy furniture for her room I gave her the ones my mother was using in the older house and I had to buy myself another bed and all the furniture for my bedroom.

I'd like to specify that even though she still has to pay me back and says she has no money in the past few months I saw her buying many things for herself, she got a new big tattoo and she often went to the hair salon (I know because she literally sent me photos)

Now the real big issue, I have three cats but technically the third one is my mom's cat, which she abandoned. My sister hates this cat for some reason(even tho she's very lovely, playful and she never does anything bad) and she's been pressuring me to give the cat to someone else because she doesn't want her and she's also been pressuring me to close my cats in my room(which is barely 7m²) because she doesn't want cats around the house.

To this day I did none of that and she knows it because she came a couple of times here to visit and she didn't say anything about it. Yesterday she told me next month she's coming here and she's bringing her two cats and she's now pressuring me again about the third cat I have(she doesn't have any issues with my other two cats, only this one).

I tried asking some people in the past if they wanted this cat but no one wants her, she's 3yo and I don't want to leave her to a shelter or abandon her because I love this cat and she's basically my cat at this point and not my mom's cat. My sister knows that I love this cat but she doesn't want to hear anything about it.

So aitah? What can I do in this situation? I feel used by her since she made me do all the work inside the house before telling me she didn't want that cat and that she wanted the other room for herself.
