The Mysterious Old Man [SM] is a Star Trek TNG reference

I'm honestly surprised no one has ever caught onto this before. I was watching a video on weird things in Pokemon and this character came up and the same conclusion that I usually see was made, that this small side quest is just an unanswered mystery in the game. However, I believe that the intention here is to reference Star Trek the Next Generation, specifically the episode "The Inner Light".

The basic rundown for the quest is that in where you talk to an old man in the Haina Desert, be tells you that he has lost his memory, and wants to see a Solrock or Lunatone, and once you show them to him, be levitates back to space.

I think the reference is pretty clear here, the model is obviously strikingly similar to Captain Picard, with the bald head and red shirt, he also "beams" up after finishing the quest.

In the episode of TNG called "The Inner Light" something happens to Picard, and not to spoil it as it is one of the best episodes in the show, Picard loses his memories and is stranded on a desert planet, and the way he regains his memories involves something with the sun.

I should also mention that there is another episode called "Masks", which tbh isn't that great, but it also involves Sun and Moon artifacts. Which tbh, I don't know if the reference to that episode is likely,

but I am 99% sure that this small obscure mysterious side quest is a reference to Star Trek.

Seriously What is going on with the prices?

I've been collecting LEGO my entire life so absurd prices for figs is not new. I collect LEGO Star Wars specifically too, which is an absolute garbage fire and has been for along time. I just wanna know what is going on with the prices for the classic LEGO Batman figs rn? It's actually insane, like really really bad. I wanted to get the head and hair that I am missing for my childhood Nightwing as I lost them a long time ago and unfortunately only have the torso left. I really regret waiting years to purchase them as there is no way I am spending 300$ on a hair piece that wasn't even exclusive to the figure and one that's not even in great condition either.

Seriously what happened to make these figs this expensive? The prices right now are worse than some of the most sought after SW figs. I could buy the entire Cloud City set minus Boba for the same price as a single classic Batman figure at the rate this is going. I just wanna know what exactly happened? Is it some BS Youtuber that caused this? Is the it hype for the new game or something? I really cannot wrap my head around it.

I also noticed that this seems to be an exclusively USA thing.

I hate it now so much, I just wanna replace the stuff I lost as a kid, why does everything have to be so expensive now, its so depressing. Born way too late for this I suppose.
