Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out the most stable BIOS version for my setup and wanted to see what you guys recommend.

Specs:
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 (planning to run EXPO once stable)

I recently updated BIOS and started running into weird issues (mainly with GTA V / FiveM — black screens after loading, crashes, etc.). I’m doing a fresh Windows install now and want to make sure I’m on a reliable BIOS version before I set everything up again.

Questions:
- Which BIOS version are you running on this board with a 7800X3D?
- Any versions I should avoid?
- Is the latest BIOS stable, or better to stick with an older one?
- Any specific settings (EXPO, PBO, etc.) that helped stability?

Appreciate any advice — just trying to get a clean, stable setup this time.

Thanks 👍

Hey, I’m having an issue with my PC not booting after upgrading my CPU and I’m stuck.
Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D (also tested with Ryzen 5 7600X)

GPU: RTX 4060

RAM: Crucial DDR5

Motherboard: MSI B650-S WiFi (board says this on it)

Cooler: 240mm AIO

Problem:
PC powers on (fans spin, RGB on)

EZ Debug LED shows DRAM light immediately and stays solid

No display / no POST

What I did:
Swapped from Ryzen 5 7600X → 7800X3D

Updated BIOS using Flash BIOS button (successful, blinking stopped)

Cleared CMOS

Reseated CPU multiple times

Checked socket (no obvious major damage, maybe slight pin misalignment but not sure)

Tried different RAM sticks

Tried 1 stick in A2 slot

Tried both CPUs (7600X and 7800X3D) → same issue

Checked all power cables (24-pin + CPU cable fully in)

Reapplied thermal paste and remounted cooler

Extra info:
PC was working perfectly before CPU swap

After swap, it never booted again (even with old CPU)

I did have EXPO/overclock enabled before

Question:
At this point, is it safe to assume the motherboard is dead (socket or memory channel issue)?
Or is there anything else I should try before replacing it?

Any help appreciated 🙏
