Hello,
I just finished my first book and I’m having trouble figuring out what genres it falls under. I tried researching different genres and books that are similar to mine but it’s been really confusing trying to figure out what genres fit. I would appreciate any help that could point me in the right direction.

My book is called “Mother,” it’s a picture book meant for adults. The book follows the story of one family across 5 generations of women. It shows the development of the maternal relationship and how a mother's desires to do right by her child (and to rectify the pains of her childhood) can be passed down or “twisted” over time. It’s the “ I did everything for you. Why are you not happy?“ mentality.
