I got into life sci and nursing at mac but rejected from health sci which was my top choice obviously (i’m aiming for med school). Now i’m kind of conflicted on what to do. I love mac and regardless of if I got into health sci or not i’ve always wanted to go there, I see it as the perfect balance between academics and social life and I really like the campus and environment. But i’m scared life sci will kill my gpa first year as i never took physics in hs and don’t like math. It’s hard for me to picture myself going anywhere other then mac, and I feel like if I don’t go i’m gonna wonder what it would have been like if I went, but i also don’t want to ruin my chances of med school. I’m aiming for a high gpa and good research/work/volunteer opportunities, but I also want to have a fun/social university experience with a balance tho. This is mostly because I never really got to live or do anything in highschool and spent all of my time studying and never really made many friends even tho I am an outgoing person. I have a 95 percent average right now in grade 12, I did partial IB (in grade 12 only bio and french ib), and my backup plan if I don’t get into med is to be a highschool science teacher, and I don’t wanna have to do too many essay based courses in uni if i don’t have to. The reason why I want to go to mac is because it’s my dream uni i’ve always only wanted to go there, western because I love the social life there and I think going there would give me the university experience i’m looking for in terms of fun, laurier because I’ve heard itl be less competitive in terms of getting opportunities and also easier to maintain a high gpa, and waterloo because of the co op and also cuz I like the first year courses for the health sci program and think I would enjoy them/do well. Based on my situation and what I want from the university/program I pick, what would be the best option for me. I was also hoping to get some insight as to how the social, academic, gpa, and opportunity’s look like at each uni, and wether it will be possible for me to 12 life sci at mac considering the whole physics and calc thing. But overall, would picking life sci for the uni and not for the program be self sabotage in terms of my gpa or is it doable considering my situation?

i’m having a hard time picking between these programs for undergrad. I’ve always wanted to go to mac, I love the campus and environment but i’m scared first year life sci will kill my gps as i never took physics in highschool and don’t like math. My goal is to go to med school, therefore i’m aiming for a high gpa and good research/work/volunteer opportunities, but I also want to have a fun/social university experience with a balance tho. This is mostly because I never really got to live or do anything in highschool and spent all of my time studying and never really made many friends even tho I am an outgoing person. The reason why i’m so stuck is because I keep hearing people say I should go to western and I kind of want to as well but med sci poses the same gpa uncertainty as life sci at mac snd I don’t really like the required courses i’ll have to take in western health sci as they seem very essay based and I don’t think I would enjoy that. And then with mac even tho i’m scared I feel like if I don’t go i’m always gonna wonder what it would have been like if I went since i’ve always wanted to go, and it’s just hard imaging myself going anywhere else. Based on my situation and what I want from the university/program I pick, what would be the best option for me. I was also hoping to get some insight as to how the social, academic, gpa, and opportunity’s look like at each uni, and wether it will be possible for me to 12 life sci at mac considering the whole physics and calc thing.
