How to Fix Classes - Intuitive Drafting
As you all might agree and know, classes are actually bullshit on this game. Most of the time the classes don't tell anything about draft, how the game progresses and the brawler's playstyle. If y'all watched Bobby's draft guide, you might know that our current class system has nothing to do with brawler interactions, and there are way better ways to categorize brawlers, imma get more into detail than Bobby's list, brawler interactions are way more complicated than the general "assassin" "tank" "anti-tank",ect. This new trait system should reflect real drafting stage way more accurately and in theory teach more players how do brawlers interact (teaching players how to draft)
First of all Classes should be less of a thing used to just categorize a brawler, but more about on how the brawler works, it's more like a "trait" that the brawler has and it should represent them in a gameplay stance.
e.g. a "Dasher" dashes and can speed through and push through brawlers quickly. An Ambusher uses bushes on the other hand, surprising enemies using bushes as their advantage. A Diver is a brawler who is really good at engaging in 1v1 situations and at diving into a matchup quickly, they are good at engaging but less at disengaging. All 3 of these brawlers would be considered "assassins" in our current system, even though they work considerably differently: to counter an ambusher you could use a brawler that breaks bushes, but the same strategy might not work with a dasher.
Any brawler should also be able to have more Classes (or "traits"), Alli works both really well with bushes, yet she still can dash, engaging and disengaging very quickly.
A brawler like Berry is technically a thrower, but he is way more prominently a support too (yet we cannot really not say that he doesn't throw stuff)
There are traits that might be able to cover a large amount of brawlers, e.g. "Wall Breakers" , "Tank Counters", "Piercing", "Spawners", or more specific traits like "Anti-Heal", "Buffers", "Enablers"
This feature is also supposed to teach people how to draft and engage in a smart format, it's way easier to know that a "Piercing" Brawler counters a "Spawner" rather than remembering one brawler who's good against a Sirius. If we categorize and make us be able to sort those brawlers, our brains (pattern recognizing machines) would absolutely draft way faster and better instead of searching every single time every brawler and thinking about the brawler categories without having them right in front of us.
In fact, by having way clearer "counter" options, it would also make knowing drafting order way easier, if you know that a "tank counter" are x,y,z brawlers and they all aren't hard countered by anything, you'll know that they are the brawlers that are supposed to be picked.
We should also be able to create our own categories, other than the main ones that are more general to all players, a specific player might play things differently or need more specific categorization. So Supercell instead of making 50 new traits, they could just make a few main ones and let the players make their own.
We could make traits based on the current meta, or based on the game modes, e.g. "Safe Shredders", "Gem Carriers", "Goal Scorers", "OP Hypercharges", "OP Brawlers", "Lane Brawler", "Mid Brawler".
Whatever you would need you can make it!
If we could sort brawlers in a much easier way, it would also make the brawler amount feel less stunning to new players or to us when we draft, we wont need to remember each wall breaker and searching for each one to know which one is better, we could just toggle a "Wall Break" and search the right brawler or even toggling multiple traits to search the perfect brawler for the occasion and map.
