My 3yr old is outting me for not knowing anyone’s names

Sooooo I have aphantasia, which means I cannot see images in my mind (my memory is pretty entirely verbal). This combined with ADHD makes it hard for me to remember faces and ALSO hard to remember names.

I need to meet someone a few times and have some sort of interesting interaction to ensure I remember them. I can remember a conversation and random facts about a person but I might not recognize them next time I see them, unless I’ve met them 3-5 times before.

Anyway I’ve gotten by because I remember a lot of random facts about a person and can usually start up a casual conversation about anything. But lately my son has taken to pointing to people and loudly asking “MOMMY WHO IS THAT?”. Queue awkward silence when I don’t know a neighbors name I should know. 😂

Just need to vent

I’ve been dealing with a tantrum going for over an hour now.

My 3yr old has been acting up all afternoon. He threw a pack of wipes after I cut him off from baking muffins with me because he wasn’t listening. My husband told him “hey, no throwing.” So he picked it up and threw it again.

I took his cars away and told him he can have them back when he picks up the wipes and gently puts them away on the table. Queue meltdown.

It has now been an hour of screaming and crying and telling me he “can’t find the wipes” (which are under his feet).

I refuse to budge. I don’t negotiate with terrorists. It has now been an hour long standoff over a pack of wipes. Anyone want to gamble on how long this is going to last?

Edit: he passed out on the floor. Checkmate, I lost. It’s 6:30 pm here so definitely not an ideal time for him to be sleeping.
