Fulfilled a multi-year dream recently, put my music on cassette.

I've been wanting to do this for the past 4-ish years. It's taken me time to build up a tape collection, get a portable player/deck, and feel confident enough to make the splurge and get my own music onto proper cassettes!

I got a small run of 20 tapes from duplication.ca. Super happy with how they came out. I ended up using my University's print shop for the j-cards (their first time doing so) and they came out wonderful.

I started my ambient project, Opals, inspired by the ambient cassette scene of the 00s where artists would base their music around the format. So it feels full circle to finally have it on here. The music is nature-inspired drone that uses computer noise, tape recordings, and nature sounds.

I went with a blood-red tape to match the inspiration for the album, a deer skull left in the forest. It's an album about death and decay.
