Ebel is one of those brands that people often overlook today, but if you look back at their "Neo-Vintage" era in the 90s, they were doing some truly incredible things. I’ve found myself falling down the rabbit hole of these pieces. There is something so satisfying about that organic, flowing hexagonal case design in solid gold.

I've gotten three of them here together for a group shot:

  • 1911 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph: This one is the heavy hitter. It’s powered by the legendary Zenith El Primero movement with an added calendar module. It’s a lot of high-end watchmaking packed into that slim, curvy Ebel silhouette.
  • Voyager World Timer: I love the rotating bezel on this. It feels more "tool-ish" than your average gold watch, but still has that distinct Ebel elegance. It’s a great example of a functional complication done with a unique aesthetic. I've seen these more often with stainless steel, and those make for great value. Still, the gold just feels right it definitely is the better format in my book.
  • 1911 Chronograph: The classic. Clean, balanced, and incredibly comfortable on the wrist. It’s the watch that really defined the brand's peak era. Not to mention that incredible deep blue dial!

These three together represent a time when Ebel was genuinely competing at the highest level of design and movement sourcing. They aren't the most common sight on this sub, but the build quality and the way that gold catches the light is just different.
