Dragon Quest hasn’t truly clicked with me. It should, I love Dragon Ball, I love turned based combat, but I just haven’t had THAT experience. I thought Dragon Quest 11 was pretty great
But maaaaan this game is freaking great! Charming, cozy, the characters are really good so far, drops of darker tones here and there, and boy does it feel like an adventure. The music while you’re exploring the land is absolutely fantastic.
I can’t stop thinking about this game, I played alooooot this weekend and all I want to do is play more.

I get the Dragon Quest love with this one. This is my 6th Dragon Quest I’ve played and I can already tell it’s going to be my favorite.

Also meet two Kiddos in a village, first one named Bangerz
Second kid Mash…freaking fantastic haha

Also, it’s fairly difficult which is always a pleasure, I’ve been humbled by normal mobs while out exploring.

There’s something blissful about doing a bunch of random battles and then making it to the top of a hill and seeing a treasure chest not too far away. Truly feels like a whimsy adventure that’s resonating so well with me.

I’m late to the party but I think I’m falling in love with Dragon Quest VIII

Just posted last night that I started playing Wild Arms 4…played for
6 hours between last night and this morning and it’s just not clicking.
I’m not totally abandoning it, but for now it’s being sidelined.

Wanted to stick in the same era (just finished Tales of Symphonia on my GameCube in my Retro corner) so I’m starting a major blind spot in my backlog

Dragon Quest 8!

I heard this is a fan favorite in the series. I’ve finished 11 and enjoyed it overall.
Hoping this clicks with me. Been struggling to find an RPG that’s really really hooks me. Not sure if this will be it, but one can hope! Plan to take it slow and see how it goes.

I’m used to random encounters so that shouldn’t be an issue…I hope ha

I wonder what the number one reason this game is considered the black sheep of the series? I’m guessing it’s the change in battle system? Regardless I’m excited to see how I feel about it myself, actually playing the game for the first time
Freaking loved the Wild Arms 1&2 that I’ve finished so if it gives me just some of those feels I think I’ll be in for a good time.

Have you played this one or any in the series?
What’s your favorite entry if you have?
