My last comment was removed so I will update it. The video Game Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder was released in arcades in 1992. The game used a 32-bit arcade board for its graphics. The cast of the game consists of four characters, Goah the giant who has the dwarf Gilius thunderhead riding on his back. Gilious does the magic. The next character is Stern Blade; he is an Axe Battler clone with a huge sword. Dora a half-human half horse centaur and little Trix an elf with a pitchfork. Al of these characters go off on the quest to once again defeat the evil Death Adder. The quest spans five levels with various branching paths through the levels. This leads to the eventual final battle with the dreaded Death Adder.
Revenge
of Death Adder is widely cited as the best game in the Golden Axe series.
Sadly, there has never been a release on modern hardware. You can play the game
on PC through emulation, but Sega has never released the game officially so
consumers can purchase it. I am hoping that this post gains some traction and
that perhaps somebody at Sega will see it.
It is shocking that Revenge was made for the arcades in 1992! Now in 2026 the consumer still has no way to legally own the game.
