Looking for a sci‑fi movie about an alternate reality, tower with a light beam and a missing family
I’ve been trying to remember this movie for years and I can’t find it on Google.
What I remember (some details may be slightly mixed up, I saw it a long time ago or maybe only the trailer):
– It’s a science‑fiction movie with alternate realities / timelines.
– In “our” world there is a tower / tall building that sends a light beam up into the sky.
– At some point, almost everyone disappears.
– The main character is a man who remembers having a wife and a daughter, but in one of the other realities they’re not there.
– He uses a strange spherical device (like a ball‑shaped gadget) that he brings into the tower. Inside, everything is kind of wrecked / disordered.
– He uses that device to jump to another timeline or alternate reality, almost like a form of time travel.
– In one of those realities there is something like a curfew, with a flying patrol ship or flying police craft watching the streets.
– There is a fight on an exterior platform outside the tower, high up on the outside of the building.
– At some point (I’m not sure if it’s the beginning or somewhere in the middle), a helicopter comes to get him, and in that version of reality he does have a wife (and maybe also his daughter) alive. It might be a rescue or extraction scene.
– I’m pretty sure the movie is from around 2010 to 2024, and it felt like a lower‑budget sci‑fi movie (maybe made for TV, cable or streaming rather than a big cinema release).
It is NOT “Parallels (2015)”, NOT “Dark City”, and NOT “The Cloverfield Paradox”.
