Hello everyone! I may be looking too far into this but I (19F) have a crush on this one guy (19M) in my college and we talk sometimes, we’re more of acquaintances who have deep conversations rather than friends, he remembers small details about me even from our first conversation ever, however i realized that i don’t understand if he’s serious or not. I mentioned once that he doesn’t have to worry about me understanding his jokes in a different or romantic light because i don’t expect that kind of thing coming from him to me, he sent a gif and told me not in a million years, then proceeded to tell me i’ll be alone forever (normal jokes on both sides between us but never to this extent) then in another conversation i mentioned i wanted to be like SpongeBob that he’s happy, has a stable job, a home and good friends then out of the blue he tells me that SpongeBob is lonely, forgotten and has no one special even though that was not what the conversation was about.
Yesterday i showed him some old lady doing the scuba and i told him that’s me when i’m old and brain rot is the only thing i remember, i then told him imagine if we’re both thrown into the same nursery home and i do that crap to you in ur final years, he quickly dismissed me by saying he has to go study like right now because of me.
I realized the joke might’ve gave him the wrong idea so i apologized later and he told me he hates the idea of the joke but not who said it or something along those lines, i joked once more telling him i’ll make sure to go to a different nursing home and he said please do.
I can’t tell if he genuinely dislikes me or if he has dry humor or what cuz i’d like to know, cuz i’ve thought i might’ve bothered him too much before and he actually clarified that he lets me or whatever tf. He makes sure to exaggerate his reactions whenever i swear cuz i apologize after despite him cussing way more than me.
I’d like an answer or maybe i’ve lost my mind, idk who to ask 😭
