I have a Speed 400 and tried to bleed the brakes because my caliper pistons were not going in, only 2 out of 4 were moving. I released a bit of fluid from the bleed nipple, pushed them in, and fitted the new front brake pads.
I did the normal bleeding method and I’m done with the bleed; no more air is coming out, but there is barely any pressure in the brake lever. When I fully pull it in, it only brakes about 5%. I heard online that I should ride it to actuate the ABS or something and the pressure will build back up, but I've tried and there is still no pressure.
So, is it possible to bleed the brakes and build pressure back up on my own? or do I need the triumph diagnostic tool to actuate the abs?
Update: Apparently, you have to have the bike turned on while performing the bleed because of the ABS system. For any other Triumph 400 owners: if you’re bleeding your brakes, remember to keep the bike on so the ABS unit is active. Otherwise, the internal valves stay closed, and you won't be able to build any pressure.
