DIY delta fan coolingpad (so you dont have to)
1.5 year ago, i built a coolingpad using fans from a retired old desktop pc. Tbh; this fits my ML workload (24/7 uptime for training vision models), the reason i dont just buy a gaming coolingpad because i had enough of their short lifespan and repairability. Each fans can pull 100+cfm at reasonable static pressure, though, notice the dual ball bearing noise can make anyone insane. My friends asked the benefit of this; at a certain pwm it can absolutely lower your laptop internal fan rpm which theoretically speaking it should promote longetivity (knowing gaming laptop fans had lower lifespan). Has anyone done similar things?
