hello! i am 5 weeks postop, i had a mastopexy done.
last friday my doctor applied nitrate sticks in my hypergranulation opening, and this is 5 days after. he told me to clean with epson salt and apply bacitracin. but i’m cleaning the wound twice tho, once with the epson salt and the other time saline water.

i’m changing dressings around 3-4 times per day.
i have to wear compression since i have implants but 3 times a day i leave them in the air to breathe.

i’m reading some about hypergranulation and they recommend steroids, also medical dressings like the antimicrobial ones or hydrocolloid.

i have a upcoming appointment this friday, but i feel the nitrate sticks did a lot of more damage. it feels more swollen and the hypergranulation skin pops out a little more.

what do you think? i don’t feel fever and it doesn’t hurt at all.

have any of your doctors used this sticks on you?
how did it feel? how many times did he applied to the opening? this is two days after that application. he said he didn’t saw infection, and that he will see me every week to do the same process. but it’s getting tiring and i’m also like constantly worried even though coming to this foro makes me feel like i’m not alone!

the red spots around it, it’s just a band aid reaction.

also it’s killing me thinking that this may happened bc of me, i started to work 20 days after surgery but slowly, i am a nail tech and i move a lot the right arm which is the one with this problem

i’ll be 1 month this saturday. it doesn’t hurt.
