Hi everyone,

I’m about to repaint the front of my house and would really appreciate your recommendations.

The facade is a mix of plaster and exposed brick, along with black metal gates and railings that I plan to keep as they are. I’m considering a general color update to unify everything, but I’m still unsure about the best approach.

A few things I’m trying to figure out:

Is it better to paint over the brick as well, or leave some of it exposed for contrast?

What colors work well with black elements (gates, railings, etc.) without making the facade look too flat?

What type of finish would you recommend for exterior use: matte, satin, or something else?

Any suggestions to achieve a modern but understated look?

If you’ve dealt with something similar or have ideas to share, I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks!
