I’m currently fixing my friend’s Xbox One S which is stuck in a recovery loop and I’m getting E101/E106 errors during setup.
The original HDD failed, so I’ve replaced it with a known working 500GB drive. I’ve confirmed the drive is healthy and correctly partitioned (GPT clean installs tested as well).
The console always builds the partitions successfully (System Update / System Support etc.), but fails during OS install/validation.
Errors I’m getting:
- E101 00000504 8B050041 (fails around 1–2%)
- E106 00000009 80070002 (fails around 5–6% during reset)
Current system version it appears to expect:
26100.8064.xb_flt_2605ge (build 260429-2200)
I’ve tried:
- Multiple HDD/SSD replacements
- Diskpart clean + GPT
- Fresh OSU1 USB (dated 15/04/2026)
- Offline system update
- Reset remove everything
- Ethernet recovery attempt (no network activity detected)
In all cases, the process always fails during early install/validation stages.
Does anyone know if OSU1 is currently behind this build branch or if there’s a known fix for consoles on this xb_flt 26100 state?
Any help appreciated.
