Unsolicited advice

Just today I had a bunch of colleagues discuss my pregnancy (16weeks pregnant) during work. They have been giving me advice that I didn’t ask for (get a plan csec, go to a private hospital etc).

They also decided to tell me a bunch of horror stories from people they know about dying or going through horrible long hours of labour.

Then I ranted to my family and my brother told me that he thinks my body is small and that he had friends who died because of that during childbirth.

My anxiety is just through the roof right now. I know people die from labour. I know it’s risky. Why add to my anxiety?!

I’m almost 15 weeks pregnant and I’m excited to become a mom. However I am stressed out about finances.

I earn around 5.7k nett while my husband is currently earning 2.5k nett due to a phase of transitioning into a new business which is yet to start running. There’s a huge uncertainty to whether his job will end up paying or not.

After paying off housing loan, car loan, insurance, internet, phone bill, electric water bill, petrol, monthly credit card spendings, maintenance , I’m left with only RM300 monthly and sometimes less. And I try to use that as my monthly to eat. I force myself to save 200 in our joint acc each month but every month my husband is requesting for an extra 500 from that acc to get through the month. So that savings account is quickly depleting as well. (Left only 9k) He also has a car loan, insurance etc that leaves him with almost nothing.

I am trying to brainstorm better ways to earn more money. I regret that right before finding out about the pregnancy, I did spend RM12k on doing Invisalign to fix some teeth misalignment and I will be paying that off until Dec, after the baby comes. I feel cornered and unsure how to get through this year while expecting a growing expense for baby. Should I work part time while I’m still pregnant? It’s very tough to even do my current job (normal 9-5) and I come home with eyes barely open. Changing jobs is not possible. I am pregnant and will not get an offer. Any advice?

Please don’t judge. Life is hard already. I’m just trying to make things work.
