No one indicates on roundabouts in my area. How do I avoid hesitation/observation faults? I know some other ways to judge safe gaps in the road, but I want to see if there are any more reliable ones. Any tips?

I know that in a driving test, you will be asked either to follow road signs or a sat nav.

Do they ever ask you to follow both at the exact same time? If so, is it possible for them to contradict each other?

When I took my test, that's what I had to do, but when I told my instructor afterwards he said that isn't supposed to happen. Searches online also show it's not supposed to happen. I was wondering if it was a new thing maybe they were trialling.
