Hey Reddit I’m totally new to this and don’t know how or where to even begin. I’m 26(MtF) and my boyfriend is 21(M). I’ll start with context and try to be thorough as possible so everyone can understand why I’m seeking advice and why I’m here. I don’t know how long this first post will be but will break it up into parts or separate days if needed. MODS please lmk if i need to post updates on my separate page. I don’t want to bombard the reddit.
(2020) My boyfriend (who I’ll refer to as Jr.) and I met online playing a video game; about 6yrs ago. The game was Apex Legends and our game chemistry simply matched perfectly. We just played really great together and would win our rank games.
Now before I move forward and math wizards start mathing. Yes, I was 20yrs old and he was 15yrs old when we exchanged simple introductions. I set an immediate boundary that I’m just here to play the game. We didn’t communicate outside the game nor did I have intentions of doing so. For what I knew he was a minor and I adult. I kept things very limited, short, and nothing more than just playing the game a couple days out of the week.
(I didn’t know the age difference till present day so keep this part noted. I don’t want things to get misconstrued)
(2020-2023) Over the course of 3 years we didn’t play as much maybe 1 time every other month or so; and I was okay with that. However, one day he invited me to a party chat and to keep the context of the conversation brief. He basically expressed that he missed gaming with me, had always had feelings for me, and now that he’s 18 he wanted a chance to get to know me on a serious level that could pursue a relationship. I apologized to him and informed him again I’m just here to play Apex. I was 23 w/ no intentions of dating someone younger, and lastly that I am trans transitioning from male to female. After explaining this to him it ALL simple went in one ear and out the other, and hadn’t brought it up again. We slowly began playing together again a few days out of the week. We finally added each other as “real friends”. This was the first time we exchanged our real names and had saw what we each other looked like.
I’ll have the next post ready in a couple days which will lead up to the present day. I apologize I know this is a lot of information. I again wanted to be clear and thorough as possible. If you have any questions or thoughts please share them.
