i visited the gym last month to cancel my membership, and a young lady supposedly “cancelled” it for me. i did not receive an email afterwards but i thought it would take a couple of weeks to fully go through and i also paid the 30-day notice fee. fast forward, crunch attempted to charge for $60 and $18, so i emailed their support team and was told that i did everything right. i even reached out to the gym and they informed me that i owe money which is insane considering that it was never disclosed to me during the cancellation. so i flat out told them that i’m not paying it since i cancelled my membership in march. anyways, i email support again and they tell me that the situation has been escalated to corporate since the location screwed up, not me. i also told support that this is illegal and it’s insane to not be transparent about what is being charged. crunch literally needs to do better when it comes to cancellation and their price transparency because why am i getting charged over something that’s not my fault? the location also didn’t believe me when i said that i received emails from their support stating that i should not be getting charged anything past march, so i might have to go in person and offer proof just so they stop trying to charge my account. i literally had to lock every card i own just to prevent the transaction from going through, and even told my bank to not let the transaction post. moral of the story- make sure crunch is charging you the correct amount and keep records of your cancellation since they will try to play dirty.
