Best walking/running shoe for holiday?

Got a 2 week holiday coming up where I’ll be walking most days at least 10,000 steps and also doing some short 5k easy runs as well to keep my running up. Trying to decide if I should get a new shoe or if I can use what I’ve got?

At the moment I have Saucony Ride 18 (in white), Novablast 5 (in white) and ASICS Superblast 2 (in blue). Ideally I just want to take one shoe for walking around all day and running, what would you take?

I’m thinking the novablast 5s? I find the Rides far too firm and not cushioned enough?

I’m a neutral runner, 6’5, 180lbs (81kg)

Thank you!

Deciding between Mach 7 or Ride 18 as daily trainer?

I’m starting to train for my first marathon in October, currently doing 25-30km a week across 3 runs and already have the Superblast 2. Trying to decide between the Saucony Ride 18 or Hoka Mach 7 (or something else that’s firm) as a daily trainer for Zone 2 easy runs - pace is 6:30-7:00/km.

For context I’m 6’5, 81kg and been running for a year. I need a firmer platform due to difficulty in the toe off and also generally putting more force through the shoe so softer shoes like Novablast or 1080s don’t work for me.

Any advice would be great, is the SB2 enough or one of these two worth investing in?

I’ve been running since May last year and recently switched from the Saucony Ride 18 to the ASICS Novablast 5 as my daily trainer alongside the ASICS Superblast 2 as my fast run and race shoe. I’m running 3 days a week (around 20-25km total).

Recently had 4 weeks off running due to a inner ankle overload and came back last week doing 23km solely in the NB5 as my new shoe and not sure why but I’ve noticed outer left knee ache since starting to run again - is it the shoe or the increased load?

I’m not sure whether I should just stick to using the SB2 for all my runs and if the NB5 is too soft for me - I’m 6’5 and 81kg for context. I never had outer knee pain on my other shoes but then not sure if it’s due to deconditioning and introducing a new shoe that’s the problem?

I’ve got a half marathon on 24th May and then my first marathon in October so any advice would be great as ideally I’d like a 2 shoe rotation: daily trainer and the SB2. I find the Ride 18 too firm and not fun, there’s no rocker like the novablast.

Thank you in advance for any help! 😊
