My 15 month old is scheduled to get tubes tomorrow, and as if I wasn’t already nervous enough for anesthesia she decided to get sick this week. She has had six ear infections this year so we desperately want to get the tubes put in, but this week she got a virus of some sort. She has been running 102 to 103 the last three days, including a 102.7 this morning aka day before surgery. She has a very mild cough, but it is crunchy.

I have called the ENT to get their opinion on if they will proceed tomorrow so I’m waiting to hear back, but did this happen to anyone else? I have read online that fever and respiratory issues are reasons to delay, but the coordinator seemed like everything would be fine.

I can’t burp and haven’t thrown up in 22 years. I’ve been up all night with a stomach bug and violently dry heaving with no success then just have to wait for it to go the other way…

This fees almost dangerous not being able to throw up when neeeded?! I don’t like throwing up from my memory but I’d much rather be able to when im sick because this is miserable 😭
